Freudenberg Launches First Cross-BG Lean Admin Black Belt Program in China

🕒 January 27, 2025 · 8:25am · 4 months ago

On February 17, Freudenberg will kick off its first cross-Business Group (BG) Lean Admin Black Belt Program in China. This initiative is designed to bolster the Operational Excellence of Freudenberg's Chinese subsidiaries. It represents a collaborative effort among local BGs in China, coordinated by the Freudenberg Regional Corporate Center in the region. ** The comprehensive training program will consist of ten sessions conducted in Chinese. It will delve into subjects such as core Lean theories, Lean Green Belt education, Core Skills, Improvement Management, Process Management, Communication Management, and Team Management. Through this hands-on training, participants will gain practical insights into implementing Lean methodologies to enhance productivity and capital utilization within their businesses. Additionally, it will foster a network of Lean experts across the Freudenberg Group, facilitating the sharing of best practices among different BGs. In line with the “Back to Work” philosophy, each participant is expected to lead five Kaizen projects during the course of the training.

Certified Lean Admin Black Belts have an exponential impact on their organizations: As part of their training program, they are required to train at least one cohort of Lean Admin Green Belts and support their projects until graduation. Hence, Operational Excellence becomes deeply embedded across the whole organization.

Matthias Tschermak von Seysenegg, Vice President of Finance & IT at NOK-Freudenberg China, emphasized the significance of this program: “At NOK-Freudenberg China, we have nine Lean Admin Black Belts and approximately 160 Lean Admin Green Belts. Their expertise forms the cornerstone of our systematic Business Process Management approach, which aims to harmonize, standardize, and simplify processes across all non-production areas. The upcoming Chinese-language Lean Admin Black Belt training program represents a significant upgrade for Freudenberg's Operational Excellence in China. It provides an opportunity for both non-English speaking colleagues and their managers to participate in a high-value educational program.”

Lean Administration, based on Lean principles, is a program focused on eliminating waste from value streams. It aims to utilize freed-up resources to perform the right tasks at the right time. The program concentrates on reducing waste, streamlining workflows, improving efficiency, and enhancing value delivery within administrative tasks such as operations, document management, scheduling, and resource allocation.  For further information or to register for the program, please contact Ivy Xu at Ivy.Xu@freudenberg.com.cn
